The Veterinary Cancer Center (formerly Veterinary Oncology & Hematology Center) is seeking a board certified Medical Oncologist for a full-time position. The Veterinary Cancer Center is the Tri-State Area’s largest private veterinary oncology group. The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences (DSACS) of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia invites applications for two full-time faculty positions in Medical Oncology. The rank is open based on qualification of the applications. One position is tenure track at a more senior academic rank and the other is clinical track. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and maintaining an oncology service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Responsibilities will also include clinical and didactic teaching of oncology to professional students, interns and residents with participation in continuing education at the local and national levels. The VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a board certified or board eligible veterinary oncologist to join the veterinary care team at this new specialty care and emergency center. A brand new, state of the art facility will be open in January 2012, and arises from the merging of two well established specialty and emergency hospitals. The successful candidate and will join the team of multiple specialties including surgery, radiation oncology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, radiology, neurology, cardiology, dermatology and critical care. The emergency medicine department provides for 24/7 patient care.
This 30,000 square foot facility will be equipped with digital radiography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, linear accelerator (with electron capabilities), endoscopy, fluoroscopy, arthroscopy, and laparoscopy. The medical oncology service interacts closely with the surgery and radiation oncology groups. A class II biologic safety cabinet will be in place along with the Phaseal system, and the dedicated oncology staff is well trained in chemotherapy administration and client communications.

Veterinary Specialty Group – Emergency & Referral Center (VSG-ERC) is looking for a team-oriented, skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our new small animal specialty and emergency practice.
We are currently looking to fill the position of full-time oncology technician. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, good technical and communication skills, and will have an interest in oncology. The ability to perform as part of a team and multi-task are essential to the job. Experience with Cornerstone record keeping software or similar software packages is preferred.
VSG-ERC is a new specialty practice in the South Sacramento area. Our hospital is furnished with modern equipment and offers care in surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, radiology (including CT) and emergency services. We will be using a biological safety hood for preparing chemotherapy and will employ the PhaSeal safety system for chemotherapy delivery. The oncology technician will work very closely with our oncologist to build the oncology service and to serve our patients and clients.
Daily oncology technician duties will include, but are not limited to: starting new appointments and checking in recheck patients, assisting the oncologist in examining patients, acquiring blood samples and ordering/running laboratory tests, taking radiographs, anesthetizing patients for simple procedures, mixing and delivering chemotherapy, fielding client phone calls, managing the oncology service's drug and supply stock, and discharging patients.
Training in chemotherapy safety, administration, and disposal will be provided as needed.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Current Registered Veterinary Technician License
· Minimum of 3 years technician experience
· Ability to stand for an entire shift
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
· Smile and maintain an even, friendly demeanor while on the job
